Jungut Batu Beach , Nusa Lembongan

Ahh..Yes Bali , the beautiful island that offers so much beauty , tranquility , harmony and peace , even in some parts it’s already ruined by the swarm of tourist , heavy traffic jam , but Bali still always has something magical to be offered to us.

And i found this Nusa Lembongan Island , after some searching on the internet.I intentionally looking for place to escape from tourists swarm while in Bali , since my holiday time is high season , and so i decided to go to Nusa Lembongan and its’ neighbour Nusa Ceningan.

Even it was belong to Bali , Nusa Lembongan was a separated small island from Bali , so you need to take speedboat to go there. Nusa Lembongan was considered as a “new” tourist hot spot so it’s not as crowded as Kuta or Seminyak or another tourist spot in Bali , but it still keep the charming of beautiful Bali.

In the past time Nusa Lembongan locals did the seaweed farming but nowadays it was left , and many locals people join the tourism sector , and yes the tourism in Nusa Lembongan is growing bigger day by day. In a day it could be more than hundreds tourist come from Bali to Nusa Lembongan as day tripper. But in the night it could be more relax and quiet , and it’s not as noisy or hype as Gili Trawangan.

Nusa Lembongan were considered as small island , even as a small island but you need to rent motorcycle instead of bike because it has hilly island contour , and in some part it’s very steep to go by motorcycle standard. It will take some hours to go around the island completely. But instead come as day tripper i prefer to spend some days in Nusa Lembongan.

From Bali you can go to Nusa Lembongan mostly from Sanur and Benoa Harbour. At that time i prefer Sanur because Sanur has more boats and timetable to choose, so it’s more flexible i think. For an one way trip from Sanur i was charged about Rp.375.000 and if you bought the return trip it’s only Rp.550.000 / person. I hear there’re also available cheaper boat with cost around 200.000/person for one way trip , but since i already late when i come to Sanur ( around 1pm ) and some speedboat companies ticket already sold out for the rest of day so i don’t want to take the bet for looking cheaper option there (FYI , come to Sanur in the morning around 7-9am it would be better time and you can choose many boat companies).

Fortunately , there’re many hotel in Nusa Lembongan. From budget hostel to some good resort hotel , but maybe not as luxury as in Bali island. At that time , i stay in Swara Homestay 2 , a small hostel with only 4 room. It’s only Rp.175.000 with AC and private bathroom , what else do you need?hehe. But , theoretically mostly the room should be range from 200.000 – 800.000.

This Jungut Batu Beach Upper Area (The Deck Area) Considered As The Luxury Area In The Island Because Its’ Amazing View

I think this part should be really considered to any budget backpackers , bear in mind since the island not yet famous so the budget restaurant is rarely in here. Mostly cafe with western style should be around Rp.40.000 – Rp.80.000 / meal. I already calculate the average lunch here for the two person will be in the range of Rp.150.000 – Rp.200.000 ( if you choose the cheapest one in the menu , lol )

1.Jungut Batu Beach

Jungut Batu Beach

One of the famous place in Nusa Lembongan, located in the east of the island , and mostly the start place for any traveler that come from Sanur. If your boat ticket is not include the transfer to your hotel in Lembongan , then you can rent motorcycle around this place , it should be plenty and the cost should be around Rp.70.000 – Rp.80.000 for a day rent.

This Jungut Batu Beach is famous for its’ sunset. You can see the sunset while you sipping your Mojito or English Tea in the cafe around the bay.

Tips : You can ask the local for the deck cafe direction and if you already in there you can  just choose the other cafe for more cheaper food price, because this area is famous for watching the sunset.

2.Lighthouse Beach or Mahagiri Resort

Beautiful Lighthouse Beach

Lighthouse Beach , Nusa Lembongan , Bali

This beautiful wide white sand beach was located in the north of the island. If you stay in Jungut Batu area , then this beach is not too far from there , just keep heading to the north then you will find it.

This beach have soft beautiful white sand also not too crowded like Mushroom Bay. The resort is just right in the beach , but it’s free for public , so it’s good to just sitting in the beach enjoying the surrounding area while sipping your bintang beer of course :p

3.Mangrove Forest

This mangrove area is also located in the north area of the island , this mangrove area considered big in Nusa Lembongan , almost a quarter size of the island is the mangrove area. There’re some tourist activities in this area like offering the ship to explore the mangrove forest area. But at that time since i have only limited time in Lembongan , so i skip this one.

4.Yellow Bridge

This bridge was built to connect Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan island. The today bridge is the new one built in 2016 , the old bridge was collapsed before. This yellow bridge also the famous tourist spot in Lembongan. Many people from Lembongan or Ceningan will go from this bridge by walk or motorcycle only. And the best part it’s FREE!

5.Dream Beach

Dream Beach From Upper Part

This beautiful beach is located in the southwest of Nusa Lembongan. It has beautiful beach scenery from the upper area or lower area , but the waves so rough and immense , don’t try to swimming into the water then.

6.Mushroom Bay

Water Activities In Mushroom Bay

Beautiful Light Brown Sand In Mushroom Bay

Mushroom Bay is one of popular beaches in Nusa Lembongan. There’s some cottages and resorts in here. The beach is smaller than Jungut Batu Beach , also in the afternoon the water will slowly rise and conquer the beach so the beach just vanished! Make sure to come here early in the morning 6 am to 8 am.

Nusa Ceningan is Lembongan’s  smaller neighbor island. The size of about half of Nusa Lembongan , this island can be explored by the motorcycle , mostly people usually rent the motorcycle from Nusa Lembongan , or if you want to try your luck you can just rent the motorcycle just right in the Lembongan’s side of Yellow Bridge.

Nusa Ceningan’s road size is not larger or smaller than Nusa Lembongan just the same , so you still got to be careful if you go by motorcycle at high speed , at some part it’s kind of  nonexistent road just the rocky ground so be careful.

There’re some hotel or restaurant in the island , mostly in the east of the island that placed across the Lembongan-Ceningan Strait , and for the rest of the island still forest with hilly contour and undeveloped rocky ground road.

There are some beautiful place in this small island and it’s really worth to visit.

1.Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon , Nusa Ceningan , Bali

Located in the south of the island , some parts of the road are rough , but this place is definitely must to see and i think it’s the most famous place in this island. Stand in the right of the front vast ocean with beautiful blue fierce waves such a beautifull scenery , but watch your step since there’re no fence.

2.Secret Beach

Secret Beach , Nusa Ceningan , Bali

As the name , this beach was hidden from the road. If you want to go there you must go to the Villa Trevally Eco (this is the only way to enter that i knew) , and it’s free actually to park and enter but at least buy some drinks at its’ bar 🙂

This small beach has white sand but the waves is same characteristic with Blue Lagoon’s it’s so fierce since it’s right in the front of vast ocean , so better to stay off the water for your good. 😀
